VENUE & INFORMATION

FLORENCE

The Duomo

Florence is a city that has always welcomed and astounded its guests.

The city is capable of offering historic venues and important places for ‘meetings’. This is a role that Florence plays daily through the thousands of people who come here for cultural reasons or for work. The city actually succeeds in playing a multiplicity of roles each day: history, art, culture and traditions.

Florence with its monuments, the Duomo, the Uffizi Gallery, the Accademy Gallery with the statue of David, the Giotto Tower and all its surroundings lives of international fame as an art city, the worldwide interest in its artistic heritage and its cultural traditions, its geographic position, the famous ‘green’ region of Tuscany.

SYMPOSIUM LOCATION - "Morgagni Educational Center"

How to get to the meeting venue

The workshop venue is the "Centro Didattico Morgagni", Viale G.B. Morgagni, 40, 50134 Florence, in the surroundings of the Careggi Hospital (see map below).

By air: the Florence Amerigo Vespucci Airport (www.aeroporto.firenze.it) is served by several international airlines. A shuttle bus and taxis allow to reach the downtown within 10 minutes. In addition, Pisa Galileo Galilei Airport (www.pisa-airport.com) is about 90 km far from Florence and a shuttle (train or bus) operates regularly between the airport and the main railway station in Florence, where you can take either a taki or a bus.

By rail and bus: from the central railway station (Firenze Santa Maria Novella), Viale Morgagni is reachable by bus (n° 14 B/C indifferently) or taxi, in about 15 minutes.

By car: A1 (Milano-Roma) and A11 (Genova-Roma) are the main motorways linking Florence to both northern and southern Italy. From both A1 and A11, the motorway exit is Firenze Nord. Take then the Viale Guidoni and continue following the indications towards Careggi/Piazza Dalmazia. The Centro Didattico Morgagni is located on your right hand on the avenue following Piazza Dalmazia (viale Giovanni Battista Morgagni).
